Biography: About the artist - Born in 1950, multi-award winner Andrew Patsalou's artistic talent began to express itself at a very early age. He sold his first painting when he was only 14 years of age and held his first sellout exhibition at the age of 16 and has exhibited his work ever since in numerous exhibitions in Australia and overseas. Andrew has always had a fascination with nature and creates his paintings with a romantic flare. He draws his energy and inspiration from frequent visits to parks, rainforests and the bush. His paintings are of exceptional quality, mostly painted in water colours, acrylics and gauche, giving the remarkable impression to his subjects of being alive. His flowers, as a "subject" are ready to be cut for the vase and his birds and animals ready to jump or flyout of the painting. Paintings by Andrew appeal to the most discerning collector and are highly priced by art lovers from all over Australia and overseas. He is featured in many Australian art galleries and collections, published in limited edition and unlimited edition prints, books, calendars, cards, cutlery, etc. He has also designed the official Sydney 2000 Olympics placemats and coasters. Andrew has studied fine arts at East Sydney College from 1966 to 1969.
