Impressionist and wildlife artist, David uses several mediums to express himself. Acrylics, watercolours, drawing and oils give life to his passions and also to his vision of nature which he succeeds in personifying. He has been a professional artist since 1989 and has taught acrylics and drawing for 14 years.
Biography: David V. Mercer was born in March, 1962, at Buckingham, Quebec, Canada. He has experimented drawing since his early childhood. Following formal studies in Architectural Drawing, he has experimented with different mediums and has perfected his drawing and painting techniques. He diversified his knowledge of the arts and completed his education with studies of technique, perspective and colour at the University of Ottawa as well as Graphic Design at the Cit? Coll?giale of Ottawa. David's first exhibition was held at Gatineau, Quebec, Canada at the age of 19. Since then, he has exhibited his works in Canada—at his studio; the Galerie McGill in Montreal, Quebec; the Galerie Les feuilles d'Art and at The Open Door in the Outaouais, Quebec; the Canadian Museum of Nature in Ottawa, Ontario; the Canadian Museum of Civilization in Hull, Quebec; the Cit? Coll?giale in Ottawa, Ontario; the Byward Market Art Gallery, Ottawa, Ontario; the Conference Centre in Toronto, Ontario; Place Bonaventure in Montreal, Quebec; the Congress Centre in Hull, Quebec; the Pavlovich Museum of Toronto, Ontario; and, at numerous fairs, salons and festivals. David Mercer's works are part of several private collections in Canada and in the United States. David has been honored with numerous Canadian art awards.
