I believe that paintings should be spontaneous and expressive rather than just a copy of a photograph or photocopy. Capturing mood and emotion in a painting is a LOT harder than just copying a photograph. Therein lies the difference between an artist and an copyist.
Biography: Carol Hama Chang is a Japanese Canadian self taught artist with a passion for painting. Her love of things natural leads her to paint florals and landscapes. Illustrated a published children's book, taught watercolours at the University of Alberta (Extension), teaches watercolours, oil and design at MacEwan Community College (Minerva). Shows through galleries. Is a Senior Signature member of the Society of Western Canadian Artists.
