I'm a Gemini that was born and raised in Brooklyn, NY. Growing up as the only child I had one of two choices...stay bored or make my own happiness. So I chose to be very creative by making grappling hooks (look out Batman), sling shots (I'm was the original Bart Simpson), space ships (during my Buck Rogers days), draw (I inspired to be the next Geroge Perez) and finding many ways to enjoy life. By 1989 I decided to move to North Carolina because the violence and racial tension was getting out of hand. During my ten years down south I racked up college degrees which eventually got me on my journey to becoming a good graphic designer. A year after I got married, I decided to come back home. Some time later I found a job in Brooklyn as a designer. Granted it's not the most thrilling job on earth, but it pays the bills for now.
Biography: I have done hand illustrations all my life and studied graphic design since 1996. After getting a better understanding of it in college, I started freelancing here and there while looking for a full-time position as a designer in North Carolina. Graphic design jobs were hard to come by down south since there were not that many positions to come by. So I packed my things and headed back home to New York for a better chance for a career. In 2000 I landed a temporary assignment as a layout artist for Thomson Financial's newspaper. This assignment lead to a design job with a local hospital in Brooklyn, where I designed ads, posters, newsletters, logos, stationery and became instrumental with directory signages that light-up at night. Although my works can now be seen in different parts of Brooklyn, I'm always willing to learn more about this great industry by cracking open a design book, checking out advertisements all around me or trying things out by trial and error. Geminis are natural-born artists; so it's easy to see how I got involved with graphic arts.
