I can't believe art and I can't live without it. Art is a mystery that gets dug out of the ground, ten thousand years old and without a story behind it besides the simple feelings it presents, or it hangs in a world-class museum, the crowds gasping between their breaths to catch a glimpse. Art is beauty, form, color, and life. It is the world and it is alive. When I begin work on a new painting, I get caught in another world and I try to bring what I see into this reality and render it onto the substrate. This other world is my own- it's emotion and it's sensory; I want to paint something that all of you can see and everyone can know, but paint it so that you can look at it again, as if for the first time. Real Art must be an awakening.
