I am a visual artist--that's the way I communicate. I cultivate my art from my life and experiences. My subject is not what I see but a reflection from me. It’s an attempt to express what I feel. I move back and forth across the edge, thinking, trying to explain it to myself. Art is an accumulation of the experiences of life. Things grow by being exposed to different stimuli. Everything gets stagnant if left alone--even an artist. You need to be out in the world. You need to go out and experience the world. Go outside and smoke a cigar, get laid, have good experiences, have bad experiences but have experiences. I like painting workers. Even when I paint dancers, I don't paint dancers in performance, I paint dancers as workers. I'm basically a blue collar artist.
