Ever since my earlist memory I`ve always thought of art, from my mother and father expressing their disbelief in their sons art work at five, to my grandfather giving me bundles of paper to take home to do pictures for him. I always try for a realistic approach to my art as far as portraiture is concerned as these are mostly client based, though I tend to make my landscapes and seascapes a little more expressionate for my own work. I am a great admirer of Turner and hopefully I will learn from the great man and someday incorporate some ideals into my own work. Saying that, I like to be individual in my approach. The melancholy amd dramaticism of the sea in all its` glory is, what I think, my greatest challenge. Luckly me :).
Biography: Born in Glasgow,in the seventies when the recession had hit its hardest. My mother and father, decided to move out to a new life in sunny Irvine, on the west coast of Scotland. Although cold, I spent a great deal of energy, in the pursuit of the freedom that you only get from being a child. Once in college I thought of a career in design or like, but my heart really lives with the old masters and commission and exhibition painting. So here I lie in the midst of what has taken these old masters centuries of learning, inner demons and the occasional bottle of Absinth.:) Oh dear.
