I am a University of the Arts grad with a Bachelors in Photography. My goal is to obtain a job involving photography and to build my skills and knowledge in this competitive field.
Biography: I started my interest in photography in high school where we had an old dusty darkroom that hadn't been used in years. My teacher at the time was thinking of fixing it up, so we did. By my junior year it was up and running and I fell in love with the darkroom. Ever since I knew photography would be a big part of my life. I attended University of the Arts in Philadelphia from Fall 2003 to Spring 2007. There, I studied photojournalism, studio, experimental, color, and black and white photo. My forte was studio, or anything that required controlled lighting. My favorite thing is outdoor portraits - mixing ambient light and strong flash. People, to me, are the most interesting subject. There's so much you can tell about a person based on a picture alone. I also got into printmaking, specifically the Gum Bichromate process where water colors and liquid tree sap combine with Ammonium Dichromate to produce a UV sensitive image. Recently I've had some photos of mine published in PLAY magazine, unfortunately they went uncredited. My interest is very broad, from straight photo to fine art.
