The camera is a truth-teller. It can show us what we want to see, but ultimately, if we are really looking, it shows us simply what is, whether we want to see it or not. Our faces, even when turned away, and our environment, even when dandied up or devastated, is a stunning reflection of all that we are. The reality and the magic are both to be found in the broad perspective, the shifting depth, and the most focused detail. I am fortunate that my camera mostly shows me the curious wonder of the best in us. It is one way I know for how much I have to be grateful.
