As an artist and designer, I am a “stitcher” who believes in exploring theoretical foundations such as chaos theory, semiotics, assimilation, and acculturation in my design work. The process of manipulating textiles (fibers, yarns, and fabrics) through the use of stitches is intriguing to me. I view the creation of stitches not only through the use of needle and thread to create 3 dimensional forms, but also the creation of stitches through processes such as knitting, crocheting, embroidery, quilting, and beading.
