It was his spiritual awakening and subsequent creative impetus that led Paul Freeman deeper into an artistic mode that engages more broadly with the themes of spiritual evolution and cosmic self-discovery. Like author Joseph Campbells essays on universal themes in myth,Freemans drawings are polytheistically broad in scope but in output attempt a syncretic resolution,for all mankind, the coming of the spiritual golden age. his gratitude for meditation in his personal life, has ultimately transformed the painstaking process of creating his visionary images-highly detailed drawings taking up to 700 hours -into another kind of meditation, a labour of love and spiritual nourishment.. Rudy GRiss.. My artwork is spiritually inspired in concept and nature and within this concept a fusion of the physical and spiritual realms.. I draw on large sheets of watercolour paper using lead pencils and I find the rough grain and texture of the paper allows me to reach inside it to reveal the image. Combined with a circular motion of the pencil and the pressure of my hand is somewhat cathartic in nature in that it produces very fine detail work, "drawing in the microcosmic to reveal the macrocosmic"..
