I believe in drawing from neither side of my brain, but from my heart. I assiduously try and drain my brain of as much samsonite as possible and ritualise each session in my studio. I want my work to be greater than the sum of its parts, and for the Gods to breathe in one ear and out the tip of my knife or brush.
Biography: I was born in the south of England and emigrated to Canada in 1956. I have been an educator, a logger, a performer, and an actor. I live at the top of a hill on the British Columbia Coast, where my life is punctuated by the blasts from ferry whistles and the occasional visit from the local black bears.
