Biography: J. Kleiner was born in 1985 and grew up in a household where creativity and artistic expression were prevalent. Though often described as a quiet kid who kept to himself, he did so for a reason - he was enjoying this time greatly. Many hours of his childhood were spent coloring, drawing, and creating. Though many things change throughout life, this hasn't. If you walked into his room when he was a child, you would most likely have found him in a mass of crayons, pencils, and paper, filled with joy. If you walk into his studio space now, you will probably find him between canvasses, paper, and paint in the same state. Though still a relatively young artist, Kleiner has completed an extensive number of works which have been on exhibition in Atlanta, Georgia and used as prints for two clothing companies. But, most notable is his illustrative work for a dual-interview with Thom Yorke (of Radiohead) and (author) Howard Zinn in Resonance Magazine ("Duty of Expression" issue 39). The interviews discussed the artist's role in political affairs. The fact that he was a "quiet kid" has had an effect on his artwork now. The themes to his works tend to lean toward that sense of calmness one feels when their surroundings and mind are still. Ideas change from series to series, but it can be said that those feelings of calmness are an underlying theme throughout all of his works.
