My work is influenced by conceptual art giving the importance to the concept/idea above the object which only will have a personal and sentimental value. Biography: Jose Garrido. Born in Alcira (Spain) in 1971. Has been living in different places. At the age of six he moved to Murcia where he won his first painting prize in the County with a reproduction of Sorolla's "Children in the beach", he was 8 year old. Graduate in San Carlos Faculty of Fine Arts in Valencia University in 1995. In January 1996 came to Britain for the first time to live in Colchester where he learned the darkroom technique in Middlesex University. Afterwards he will move to London from where he travels through Europe. Creates his work either in London and Santa Pola, small village in Alicante coast where he settled a studio in 1998.
