“I intend to awaken curiosity and create an eagerness for knowledge in my students. While keeping things simple and fair, I hope that I might be that spark that ignites a student’s desire to learn about the arts.” As I have developed as an artist over the years, I have come to find that my focus is changing from stark contrasting charcoal drawings to brilliant colorful paintings. I also share a passion for Photography with my beautiful wife Kia. My Photography has grown from just snapping the shutter button into documentation and interpretation. I try to discover the natural beauty in everyday objects and record them in a way that is intriguing.
Biography: I was born August 2, 1973 in Riverside, California. I discovered Art at an early age through my Grandmother's paintings. After a concussion in the fifth grade had me in bed for a week, I picked up drawing from some "How To" books that my Grandmother Ruth brought over to help ease my boredom while recovering. I continued to draw growing up and really became fond of Art in High School. After years of experiencing life and working odd jobs, mostly in retail, I decided to go back to school and pursue a career in the arts. I then studied at California State University San Bernardino, graduating with a BA in Art Education and a Minor in Art History in 2002. I currently teach Art and Yearbook at Kimball High School in Tracy, CA and love every minute of it. I earned my MAT from Western Oregon University in Teaching/Education.
