My life is about balance. I like to create for myself an equilibrium of artistic, athletic and academic pursuits. I love science as much as art and find the two highly complementary. Like every pair of seeming opposites, they would not exist without each other. Painting for me is an outlet, a break from self-awareness and consciousness. It is pure liberty. Yet out of free-streaming, unplanned chaotic expression somehow arrives order and composition-- I suppose even my unconscious song must be managed and controlled if it's too be successful in any world outide my mind. Colour, texture and depth are important to me. If a painting is not balanced, if it does not please the eye than it is a failure.
