Realistically representing the human figure has influenced the majority of my work. My portfolio consists mainly of ceramic sculpture, but includes some drawings and digital images done in Photoshop as well. As I developed as a sculptor in college, my works evolved towards a more representational take on parts of the body, and more specifically on hands. I took great joy in studying the different positions a hand could take on, and portraying each part down to every wrinkle as well as I could. More recently I have been experimenting with drawing in a digital realm. Using Photoshop, I've been able to taken many of my sculptures and photographs and added to them and created entirely new works of art.
Biography: I am about to graduate from the University of Washington where I majored in Studio Art and minored in art history. My emphasis has been in ceramics and African Art. I am 21 years old and currently live in Seattle,Wa, though am looking to move come summer. I'm looking for a job where I can absorb as much as I can about the professional world of art, whether it be creating my own art or using art to promote products. I hope to continue producing art wherever life takes me, and specifically start applying more cultural influences to my work.
