Biography: Marissa Newell was born in Proserpine, North Queensland in 1979. She spent most of her formative years roaming the forested places of the Sunshine Coast hinterland near Maleny, before moving to Brisbane in 1998. Since her 1999 graduation with a QANTM Diploma of Multimedia from the University of the Sunshine Coast, she has worked professionally as a web and graphic designer. In 2000 she came up with the idea to publish poetry on CDROM; the idea which soon after resulted in the formation of papertiger media. In addition to her design work, Marissa also draws and paints. She recently exhibited drawings as part of Anno Domini's 'Fresh Produce 04', in San Jose, California. She lives and works in Chiang Mai, Thailand.
