Biography: Chris Nelson is a full-time licensed artist for the Baltimore & Ohio (B&O) Railroad Museum. His passion for trains began at a young age while taking trips onboard the B&O with his parents. He began drawing both trains and airplanes at an early age and started painting around age 12. He painted throughout his educational years, selling most of his work through local frame shops and art shows. His artwork continued to develop while he utilized his degree and pursued a successful sales/management career for 20+ years. In 2006, he decided to pursue his true calling and began painting full time. Chris has mentored under some very well-established artists in addition to studying at the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts. His love of trains is evident in his artwork; however, he also enjoys painting vintage WWII airplanes, classic automobiles and landscapes. His artwork has earned numerous awards and most recently been reproduced as limited-edition Giclee railroad prints for The Baltimore & Ohio Railroad Museum. Chris currently resides in Southeastern, PA with his wife and children. His boys share his love of trains.
