Biography: Donna M. LaConte A self-taught artist, I have been drawing for as long as I can remember. I began painting portraits with pastels when I was 16. I later experimented with acrylic paints and found this was the medium for me. I have been on an artistic journey over the last couple of years. Beginning with portraits, later I found an interest in decorative art, murals and faux painting. Currently I am still painting murals and faux in addition to my paintings. As an artist I want to portray vibrance and the joy of life in my paintings. Giving one a sense of escape……….. to feel, truly see, to live life as it should be experienced. In our hectic lives it is easy to exist and not truly live. In my current painting series the mood of the viewer is heightened with vibrant colors and desirable locations. The mood is further enhanced with texture, the use of iridescent and florescent paints. My paintings are enhanced acrylic on gallery wrapped canvas. Paintings extend to all 4 sides, no need to frame. I have several Painting series available for review. In addition to the original Paintings are S&N Limited Edition Giclees , complete with Certificates of Authenticity. Shows: “The Lake Mary/ Heathrow Art Festival” & “Maitland Art Show”. Fall of 2003 accepted into the “DeLand Museum and Cultural Arts Center” for their juried Biennial.
