My work is an exploration of conflict. I paint out of struggle. It’s not an internal struggle. Rather a struggle between my upbringing against my chosen adult life. The experiences within the work are manifestations of questions that I will never have answered, but I will forever ask. Painting for me is far less an academic exercise. Rather, it's a marriage of philosophy and rebellion. I have always thought great art needs to entail multiple levels of interpretation. My work is engineered for such. The shocking exterior is merely a gatekeeper. Between the lines is where the true ideas lie.
