One lives to work and not work to live
Biography: A talented interior designer who started in London , her clients being mainly property developers for prestigious residential locations. She was also assigned for furnishing the Royalton Hotel in New York. She undertook complete projects from preparing working drawings, planning, colour specifications thru to site supervision. This spun Sabira's growing commercial talents which she combined with her artistic flair and developed her own range of designer bedlinen. These became an instant success and soon all leading stores such as Selfridges , Liberty ,were part of her clients including Bijenkorf in Holland. Eager to create her own market image, she went on to open her first Designer shop in London's Fulham Road for her own collection as well as other designer brands of bed and bathroom products. Being both a designer and an artist she found that there was now a very fine dividing line and decided to follow nobody's style but her own. She was soon comissioned to licence her designs for tablenapkins, greeting cards for Unicef and many other paper related products. Sabira also made two television appearances , one on BBC's Asian Magazine programme in 1984 and the other on Channel 4's This Morning programme, where the focus was on the style of her work and achievements. Eventually some 10 years ago, Sabira decided to settle down in Holland where she now lives and has persued both her deisgn and artistic talents. Determined to continue in her ethos and methods of working and developing an attitude that creativity and business can mix . She is now considering setting up her own gallery and becoming an arist this time for art's sake alone. The colourful show will undoubtedly go on
