I always create artwork with the intention of expressing myself and engaging the viewer’s thoughts and emotions. Whether those feelings are joy, wonder, anger, or despair I am always striving to provoke the viewer to re-examine an otherwise common thought. Constricting myself to one medium or one idea has never interested me. I like to constantly explore and learn as much as I can about new ideas and techniques. In my most recent paintings I am examining the idea of a universal connection between all things microscopic and planetary. This stems from an interest in the structural similarities between these two seemingly opposite things. My work in drawing and printmaking aims to involve the audience in another way. The work uses figures as a more relative, humorous approach to the subject matter of religion, popular culture, and society. All of this work contains one underlining constant, it aims to help the audience examine our world a little closer.
