Mya DeRyan is one of a precious few Gyotaku artists practicing professionally world wide. Working by taking a print directly from a fish, Gyotaku originated amongst Japanese fishermen in the 18th Century as a way to document the trophies of their catch. Mya DeRyan, through years of experimentation and self exploration has brought herself to the forefront of Gyotaku artists refining her technique and media to reveal unparallelled detail and realism in her works.
