I cannot draw conventionally for toffee but am an immesely creative person then I discovered the artistic medium of Encaustic Wax painting which has given me that outlet. If you have no idea what encaustic wax painting, you basically use a small iron & 'posh crayons' to create works of art! There are a number of tools used such as the stylus which has inter-changeable heads for differing effects but I pretty much stick to the trusty iron :D Pigmented wax is melted on a steady heat flow iron and marks are made by moving the iron over a flat surface, generally glossy but not necessarily.
Biography: My name's Vix (or Vixy to my friends) and I live in Warrington, Cheshire. By trade I am a social worker but in my spare time (I also don't sleep a lot) I like to create :D I started by making cards, themselves a piece of artwork in their own right due to the mediums I use. I am particularly fond of inks and rubber stamping but I also do some wonderful work known as Encaustic Wax. My style is quite 'dark' although I cover a number of styles - Landscapes, fantasy, underwater my best works tend to be fantasy landscapes in that some objects are familiar but have an element of fantasy embedded so if you see the grim reaper stood on a hillside that's my kinda thing :D
