It is said that through the eyes we see the soul, so through a work of art we must be looking at the embodiment of the soul itself. It is through this epitome that we see the true art that has been created to realize the desires of the body and mind. Having worked as a commercial artist for the majority of my career, I have transformed the imagination of others to bring their aspirations of artistic creativity to the forefront. Now I have been given the opportunity to create without the expectations of others and to develop my soul itself into 2D and 3D form. My work is the window to my mind and body and that is my quintessence entirely. I am my art; therefore my individual creations are a subdivision of my fundamental nature.
Biography: Amanda was born in the heart of the “Potteries”. Having spent many hours watching her grandma create beautiful clay flowers, she was inspired to work with clay herself and began to create sculptures during her childhood. After leaving school she was successful in gaining one of only six student placements at the Sir Henry Doulton School of Sculpture, where she studied for two years under the guidance of such prolific sculptors as Dame Elisabeth Frink. After graduating from the school of sculpture, Amanda was given a trainee placement in the Beswick design department of Royal Doulton. During the next 10 years Amanda progressed from trainee to head of studio and designed and modelled over 100 sculptures including beautiful horses and the world famous Bunnykins. Amanda left Royal Doulton in 1997 to start a family and to work as a freelance artist, creating many sculptures for the most renowned ceramic houses such as Royal Worcester, Wedgwood and Royal Doulton. After sculpting for many years, Amanda has a real love for creating beautiful works of art. Amanda is now stirring interest in the art world with her own original collections of paintings and sculptures, taking her to a new level as an artist.
