In an era saturated by conflicts, I try, with my art, to go 'against the flow' : my aim is not to denounce (or even praise!) what's sad and ugly, but in the contrary to (re)discover the magical, often forgotten, aspects of our reality, a dimension of mystery and play, harmony and peace, still existing even though well hidden under mundane preoccupations. The subjects I like to depict are natural or supernatural creatures from folklore, myths and fairy tales, because I find them more interesting than modern human things, which I consider superficial and far from appealing to the soul. Mine is not escapism, but an attempt to transmit something positive to the sensible individuals who still need those values. A. de St.-Exup?ry said 'The essential is invisible to the eyes'. The task I put for myself is 'to find the essential', and make it visible for everyone who wants to see and enjoy it. Art is for me like a magical Bridge between the Visible and the Invisible. I hope that what I produce brings harmony to the eye and joy to the soul. This is my little contribution to work against the destructivity that we all are able to manifest, and an encouragement to seek for the best, simplest, and most innocent part of all things.
Biography: Professional Information : I am an italian figurative artist (painter, illustrator and interior decorator). I have studied Art at the Brera Art Academy in Milan, Italy, and at the Superior School of Applied Arts of The Sforza Castle in Milan. I have been living and working in Norway from year 1994 to 2000, in the city of Bergen, then moved back to Italy after this very enriching experience. As a result, my art is sometimes influenced by nordic mythology. I live now in the area of Siena, and work at my personal painting projects, as well as for an interior decoration company operating mostly in the tuscan area but occasionally also nationally and abroad. I am open to any kind of commissions pertaining to my style, and I have a special preference for fantasy portraiture.
