Biography: Anne duBois Ditmars was born in Trenton, NJ and raised in Washington Crossing, Pennsylvania. A 40+ year resident, who has enjoyed photographing Bucks and Mercer counties for the past 10 or so years. Several of her nature photographs have made the local newspapers. Anne is a self taught artist/photographer who learned early on the appreciation for art. During the mid 1990's she went out and bought a Canon SLR and has dabbled in photography ever since. Starting as a hobby she now uses her photographs on the weekly bulletins at Ascension Lutheran Church in Newtown, PA. She also has a greeting card business on the internet and sells at local craft fairs and donates 10% of her profits to Asthma and Cancer Research. Several of her artistic relatives inspired her to pick up a paint brush and begin painting. Her great aunt, Helen Oldis studied with Harry Leith-Ross a famous landscape artist, in his converted barn on his estate, in the Bucks County town of New Hope, PA. Her late brother Daniel Ditmars was an artist and studied art at Penn State's Pennsylvania College of Technology. During the past few years Anne has increased her diligence for sketching and painting and catches all occasions to improve on her art. She continues her art education with Florence Schadler at her Fine Arts Studio in Langhorne, Pennsylvania. You will find some of her best artwork and photography displayed Summers at the Langhorne Heritage Farm where she shares a studio with other local artists, online at www.womenartistsofbuckscounty.org, online at ARTSBRIDGE, every week on the Ascension Lutheran Church bulletin, in several nationwide photographic publications, the National Park Service website, the National Wildlife Federation, iStockphoto (AnneDitmarsPhotography), ArtChatter, the International Library of Photography (www.picture.com), on AnneDitmars.artistportfolio.net, Arts and Cultural Council of Bucks County, and on the internet with her greeting card sales.
