I quit my job in 2001 and moved out of the city and became an artist. About 3 years later I opened a studio in Wanganui and the next year a gallery. This year I'm working on growing my website to help support and promote artists. When I first became an artist I found it very difficult to find out information on what to do and got lonely, so I have developed the website to become a helpful art community to fill the void in the art industry. Which now many more people are doing today and I think it’s a fantastic thing! I'm very passionate about everything I do and love my life, I'm very lucky to be where I am, due to loads of determination and hard work of course. My inspiration comes from my soul and connection with the world. I am through and through a contemporary painter as I love to experiment and paint through my intuition while having a special connection with colour and music. I’m very active in my art community and like to help out when ever I can, make new friends and just enjoy my life as I feel blessed to be here! LIFE ROCKS!!!!!
Biography: Denita Tizard is an enthusiastic and pro-active member of the local visual arts community. In her time in Wanganui, Denita has engaged with the local visual arts community in many diverse ways. Denita opened and operates a Community Gallery (Quayhole Gallery) and Studio Space (The Paint Pit) for the benefit of other artists working in Wanganui. Denita has been a dedicated member of the Wanganui Arts Network and her commitment, enthusiasm and wealth of ideas has made her an integral member. Denita’s passion for the arts was recently demonstrated publicly through her participation in the ‘Creative Challenge’ run by UCOL to publicise and promote the Arts.
