My paintings materialize that exact moment of truth, beyond appearances, extracted from the multitude of fake, tricky wraps that sometimes dress life. Sometimes sad, but other times beautiful, the world we are living in, lousily governed by Man to nature’s detriment, creates symbolical images that float in our subconscious. I take these images and put them on canvas, without any censorship, beautiful or not. Just as they are. People inspire me, both their lives and experiences. The portraits I have painted are of people whom I have known for a lifetime, or whose faces remained on my mind at that moment when we exchanged glances in the street. I sometimes use strong colours and energetic lines. Other times I barely touch the canvas. I live on colour, I warm myself with yellow and cool myself with blue. There is only one constant thing in my life: the truth. It represents the essence of a moment in the immense universe surrounding us, in which a second is a hundred years and a hundred years a second. Painting is similar to writing a diary or directing a film. Now I am directing my own film in which I am also playing the leading role. The actors in this movie are the people. Some of them you will find here, others will come by in the future, but others never. I hope that my paintings will provide you with an interesting experience, maybe they will materialize your sensations, feelings or emotions, which you consciously or unconsciously had during your life.
Biography: Resume: - Born: April 30, 1977, Tecuci, Romania; - 1995 – graduated from the High School of Art, Galati; - 2000 – graduated (with a diploma in Fine Arts) from the Bucharest Art University; -numerous works in private collections. Parallel to painting, I have also experienced other artistic genres, such as mosaic, movie design and sculpture.
