Biography: Hi, my name is Gavin, ‘the white hawk’ is the actual (welsh) meaning of my name and my creative identity. I’m a twenty something year old illustrator/designer currently based in Birmingham UK. I currently freelance design and i’m currently putting together a UK God inspired clothing range (i’ll keep you posted). I have developed my skills as a designer over the past 7 years. Involving myself with community sharks and international players has helped me to target a niche market in my field, specialising in vector illustrations for fashion, lifestlye, editorials, advertising, conceptual, digital, portrait, branding, character development etc. Regular clients over the past 12 months include the The Birmingham Independent and Blazin Star Marketing. After asking myself what defines my artistic style, I find it stems from the curiosity of people's character, fashion, nature & God. My formal training is in fashion (university) and pencil portrait illustration, which explains a cause for inspiration with my digital work, particularly with figurative illustration. Of course, prioritizing and meeting client deadlines is paramount and I have found that added pressure often gets the best work out of me, rather than being given to much time to play with. Just a final thought before you click off this page.... Its not all work work work. Just I think I've realized when its time to take a break when i'm reading a hard back book and looking for the space bar to get to the next page!!!!!! LOL.
