As an artist / master printmaker, I (Joe Borg) uses traditional etching techniques. Pushing the medium to its limits. Printmaking provides him with an endless source of discoveries giving the onlooker a visual dimension filled with energy. Biography: Born: New York City, 1942 A native New Yorker, Joseph Borg spent his adolescent years on the isle of Malta. His artistic abilities were developed through apprenticeships with fine artists and master printers. Joseph Borg's studio is filled with strains of music and parts of musical instruments to set the tone and tempo to his refined, evocative paintings, prints and collage work. Joe Borg works in traditional etching techniques as well as the freer, more colorful monoprints. * Joe Borg's work has been selected to be the only visual art found in the living quarters of Biosphere II, a life sustaining experimental habitat in Oracle, Arizona. * The Art in Embassies Program (AIEP), one of the US Department of State program's, was pleased to select Joseph's work for Embassies and official residences abroad. * The World Bank, in Washington D.C., acquired a number of his works to be included in their collection. Joe Borg exhibits throughout the United States, Europe, and Asia. His works are part of many public and private collections.
