I am portraying subtle world that can be seen only with my mind's eye. I want my paintings to be a kind of semi organic creation and to have a fantasy and dreamlike qualities. I am trying to create something new and yet familiar. SYNCHRONICITY coincidences, connections and patterns. “Synchronicity attempts to explain the union of mind, body and the universe" C.G.Jung. Lots of my work is inspired and influenced by a concept of Synchronicity which states that nothing is a coincidence and events that happen in patters have a personal meaning and also are an indication of interconnection and oneness of our world. I paint about the wholeness and totality of our universe and about our individual existence being special and unique yet part of that whole. COLOUR: my inner vision and my emotional content. There is strong emotional content behind most of my paintings and colour is the means to express the emotional complexity. If words are the limit set by my physical body, abstract painting is the freedom of expression beyond words and concrete images, it’s my artistic vision. CIRCLES AND ROUND SHAPES: “Everything goes, everything returns, eternally rolls the wheel of being” Nietzsche. In my paintings I use a lot of circles and round shape which are floating in space, expanding and moving. These images are a landscape of my creative imagination; they are what I would like my life to look like when my eyes are closed.
Biography: Greek and Russian, grew up in Athens, Greece and studied art in London, UK. Now lives and works in London. September 2003 to June 2005 University of Westminster, London. Bachelors in Mixed Media Fine Art Graduated July 2005. September 2002 to July 2003 University of Reading, Reading, U.K. Bachelors in Fine Art. Completed 1st year. 1994 – 1998 University of La Verne Athens, Greece. Bachelors of Science in Psychology, Minor in Marketing
