Biography: Edmond LECESNE was born in 1939. Graduate of the National School of Fine Art of Nancy. He was a teacher of drawing in the education secondary, illustrator in Algeria then draftsman of advertisement in Paris. Havind abandoned any professionnal artistic activity during twenty years, he resumes painting in 1985. His works let show through the priority which he gives to the drawing. Being this one the solid basis of composition of the subjects. Landscapes, representing mostly trees, water, Mediterranean villages, decompose almoste geometrically into cubes and curves, while remaining perfectly representational. The blue, yellow and green colours are very often present in his clothes. One finds a dominant colour for every painting, in one melted tones sometimes close to some cameo.
