Hi!
My name is Louriel and I am a 26 year old aspiring Makeup Artiste.
I am studying the IHBC VTCT Makeup Artistry Diploma because I feel that it gives me the opportunity to display and enhance my passion and flair for creativity.
This portfolio highlights just a small portion of my work.
My career goals are to work within the Editorial/Photographic or Bridal fields.

Biography: I have always been interested in makeup and have memories of being around 7 years old and playing around with my mum's beauty items that were always placed very neatly on her dresser.
I have always been creative and could never decide what I wanted to do when I left school. I was mostly interested in poetry and writing and wanted to become a fiction writer or poet.
When I turned seventeen, I got my first part time job in a well known supermarket and was more than excited to receive my first ever (measly) paycheck! Makeup, here I come!
I had the opportunity at this stage to buy and experiment with different brands and products and had a good time finding out what things I liked.
I had always gotten positive comments on my makeup and how nice it looked and friends and family started asking me to do their makeup and show them what suited them and asking advice which I was only too happy to do.
They always suggested that I should work within the beauty field and I always nodded and did nothing about it.
After a bereavement in my family, it made me re- evaluate some things about what I was doing and where I was headed and I realised that I was not happy and felt stunted working as a Sales Assistant and wanted to do something that I enjoyed and would give me some satisfaction in my life and career.
I looked into hundreds of courses and decided on doing a Beauty Therapy, Make up and Manicure course at a local college. After doing that course I realised that I liked the makeup part but not much else(especially the waxing).
That course led me onto doing the Makeup Artistry Diploma that I am currently studying.
I am learning great techniques and am producing fantastic results that I never thought I could produce; Not just beauty work but, historical, theatrical and media makeup, and am very much looking forward to getting the opportuity to enhance and display my skills when I begin working.
