“My work focuses on a few main themes: gender and society, notions of identity, personal investigation and the relevance of the subconscious or certain dream qualities. Utilizing different techniques ranging from sewing to painting, I attempt to translate my emotional and physical state into a visual language. A common trend throughout most of my pieces is the body. I draw inspiration from the human body, and use my own as a reference point. I believe that the body acts as a cocoon, which houses our desires, sufferings and emotions. It is a vehicle for how we think, how we feel and how we cope. I am overall fascinated by the complexity of the human form in regards to its physical and psychological components, and I am constantly investigating and asking questions in relations to those ingredients.”
