Biography: Born in Bandung, Indonesia in 1973, Eva Soehjar studied architecture in Bandung where she realized that graphic design is actually her passion. She has been a professional graphic designer since her graduation in 1997. Her talents was quickly recognizable as she won the prestigeous Indonesian Minister of Tourism prize in the Indonesian Tourism Promoting Poster Competition in 1998. In the same year, she also won the Poster Competition held by the Goethe Institute and began to work for her own design studio. She served a wide range of design, from corporate identity to promotional items, from illustration to packaging design, but her keen interest is poster design. Her clients vary, from corporates and industry, hotel, bank, restaurant to independent organization and churches, but it was her interest in poster designing that lead her to her favourite client, The Bandung Choral Society (BCS). She really enjoyed designing for each project of BCS while falling for choral music as well and got the priviledge to become its official designer later on. Along with each project she developed her talent in illustration and explored painting techniques and gained a reputation as a specialized poster designer. Several posters, logo and book cover designed for BCS could be seen here in her portfolio. Eva Soehjar recently resides in Cambridge, United Kingdom where she continue her career in art and design.
