For the last six years I have studied and worked in the sector of biology and environmental conservation. However my passion for art has not waned. I enjoy creating representational work and the primary source for my inspiration is the natural world. I specialise in creating murals which describe environmental or educational themes. This work has found home in schools and educational visitor centres as well as more commercial venues such as shops, restaurants, hostels etc. I'm happy to take on commissions and more of my work can be seen at www.livingwallsmurals.co.uk
Biography: I grew up in Huddersfield and studied for a Pre BA Diploma in Art and Design at Dewsbury College of Art and Design (1999)- an excellent course with inspiring tutors. I went on to learn more about the source of my inspiration, the natural world, and studied for a Bsc in Environmental Biology at the University of Wales Aberystwyth I have remained in Wales as I find the beauty and tranquillity of the countryside inspiring all through the year. Since finishing my degree I have created murals and carried out art workshops for several environmental organisations such as RSPB, Small Woods Association, The Forestry Commission and Creu-ad. Mural painting skills have also lent themselves well to the world of theatre. I have worked along side Duncan Gough of Hoopoe Design as co-designer and scenic painter for Aberystwyth Arts Centres community theatre groups. I'm currently working on a commission to create woodland sculpture for the Countryside Council for Wales.
