The greatest advice ever given to me in my craft is that you have to "Love the Leather"
Biography: Way too much to fit. I never quite fit in anywhere as a child. At best I was labeled a "Dexter" focusing and excelling in studies, especially sciences. My secret artistic vice was Origami, which was actually just used to keep me occupied during my more boring periods of school. On the side, I also was involved with scouting, where I touched my first leather tool, and learned to explore the world around me. I graduated with honors from Rutgers University, dual majoring in Psychology and Reliious Studies. My only arts practiced at that time were martial. But I also began to find out more what it meant to be a person. After college, I entered Peace Corps. There is no way I can sum up all of that in a few lines. My service ended September 10, 2001. I returned to a different nation, not the home I had left 2 years prior. Since then I have been searching for a home, I've been an urban development worker, a substitute teacher, a Garden store grunt, an afterschool worker, and have worked in juvenile rehabilitation. But it was in my decision to take the time I was given to develop other parts of myself that I was found myself in the environments that allowed for my inspiration for leatherwork. I now spend my time working to help children, trying to find the next great leather project, and Working towards my Doctoral Degree in Psychology at Rutgers.
