The work by Małgorzata Maćkowiak shows few signs of earthy prove- nience, bearing as it does almost no relation to the common environ-ment that, no matter whether we approve or resist, forces itself upon us. It can be compared to a collection of samples, scrapped off from reality, and causing it to radiate energy and valour. The world appears here as a infinite space full of traces left by people of good will. with no menacing danger and conflict. Maćkowiak’s performances show no lack of the fairy story element. In spite of it, we won’t find here either any beautification of the world or shirking from fundamental questions. And the material aspect of this art has nothing to do with squeezing out of pigment pulp from the tube. The real corner-stone and the decisive value of Maćkowiak’s paintings, is the sort of perception that it offers. Before the observer starts looking in her works for the anecdote and narratives, he will have noticed a piece of canvas covered with throbbing trails of glaze, the noble colours. One finds it difficult to leave the exposition. And, after all, this is what matters. Sie ist wie ein Rubbelfeld, unter dem sich ein Bonus befindet - eine andere Wirklichkeit, strahlender und moralischer, in der für alle Bereitwilligen genügend kollisionsfreie Pfade, die die ausschweifenden Räume umgeben, existieren. Trotz allen märchenhaften Vorstellungen, ist das keine Überzuckerung der Welt und Beraubung von wesetlichen Fragen, so wie im physischen Aspekt - das ist kein Pigmentbrei aus der Tube, an den uns die Gegenwart gewöhnt hat. Most of our life is a collection of images passing us by like towns on a highway but sometimes a moment stuns us as it happens and we know that this instance is more than a fleeting image. We know that this moment , every part of it will live on forever... much like my travels will. I have a plan (New Zealand, U.S.A , Canada , Alaska and Europe) but time & circumstance has a way of interrupting and deterring best laid plans, so im adopting the "whatever will be, will be" aphorism. My welcome image is a painting titled "They" by artist Malgorzata Mackowiak and i chose it simple because it illustrates perfectly the emotion i felt when i had my epiphany that started this journey im on that was set into motion with the idea of travel
Biography: Małgorzata Mackowiak Was born in Cracow. She studied at the Department of Painting of the Academy of Fine Arts in Cracow. She obtained a diploma in the studio of Professor Jan Szancenbach. She practises easel painting, wall-painting, sculpture, drawing, graphic art and computer graphics. Scholarship-holder of the Minister of Culture and Art. Member of Association “Osier”.
