Recently, I?ve been working with various distinct styles, moving from the organic to the synthetic or mechanical in my interpretations. Here, I present two distinct series: one involing abstracted landscapes or abstracted figuratives. The other uses a mixture of synthetic and organic imagery. In both lines, I strive primarily to achieve an emotional impact using color, texture and composition. I hope you enjoy them.
Biography: Christopher Van Buren was born in Los Angeles, California (USA) and studied Fine Arts at the California State University in San Diego in 1980. Chris?early works reveal his mastery in sketching and drawing in a classic style. During the 80s and 90s, Chris worked in the area of commercial graphic art and photography and studied the lithographic arts. He completed a series of tarot designs for commercial packaging of organic tea. In 1999, Chris moved to Brazil and opened an atelier in Ouro Preto. Today, his works impart a richness of color and texture, with a mixture of abstract and contemporary styles. Chris exhibits his works throughout Brazil and in the United States and his works can be found in the finest galleries throughout Brazil.
