My artwork speaks of the emotional stimulation I have felt from the hearts I’ve loved and the beautiful essence of those places I’ve been has remained a part of me. My art has taught me to think for myself, protect myself, and take care of myself so I can connect and share the love I feel. I understand the wants, needs, and the sufferings of others. There cries have opened my senses up so I can create these images I felt from them. The healing of my loved ones’ physical, emotional, and spiritual passions has become my artwork. I feel excitement just to see them smile, dance, laugh, or cry when they understand that love is the only emotion that matters in artwork. So you see, my artwork is who I am.
Biography: I started drawing and painting as a teenager with friends and I’ve never stopped. I have attended three schools for the arts: Edgewood College in Madison, Milwaukee Institute of Art and Design, and the University of Wisconsin – Milwaukee. I graduated with high honors with a double major in drawing/painting and printmaking with a minor in Art History. My other passions include photography, ceramic sculptures, and writing. I have been invited to participate in the Biennale Internazionale Dell’Arte Contemporanea exhibition and competition in Florence, Italy, in 2003. This is an invitation only event that features 600 artists from 54 countries. My art has taught me to think for myself, protect myself, and take care of myself so I can connect and share the love I feel. Art has changed my life and has made me realize that love is the only emotion that matters in artwork
