As an artist I try to find a balance between what I know and what I love; business and art. As a banker I have the opportunity to use my aesthetic interest via presentations and creative problem solving; I also use my corporate experiences as inspiration for many works, “white collar blues” as I like to identify it. Being a native of Charlotte the growth of the city has served as an inspiration to me and I hope to mimic a similar growth and development as an artist.
Biography: Born and raised in Charlotte, NC Brandon’s passion for art developed while a student at Independence High School. During his senior year Brandon enrolled in a studio art class and discovered a love of acrylic paints and mixed media. While a student at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill Brandon was privileged to design his own Travel Study via the Morehead-Cain Foundation, entitled “A Divine Vision: A comparison of religious iconography in Greek and Italian culture”. During his excursion Brandon was able to travel throughout Europe visiting world renowned galleries and speaking with local art patrons and museum docents.
A banker by trade, Brandon believes it is this fusion of corporate know-how and artistic presence that makes his work unique. “Having the opportunity to apply business creativity to an aesthetic passion has given me ideas and perspectives that are unique and practical.” Brandon hopes to one day fuse these passions via corporate art consulting, designing creative spaces for corporate clients. “I believe corporations are some of the most creative institutions in the world, so in essence the marriage of business and art goes hand in hand. Everyday I carry my aesthetic passion into the workplace and conversely my business savvy into my art.” He describes his style as “abstract order” as he balances between linear composition and free flowing shapes and colors.
Brandon has been influenced by many artists and lists Salvador Dali and Tommie Robinson as his favorites.
Brandon has had works presented at the Garden State Bar Association Annual Gala, and various Fundraisers in the Charlotte area.
