The source of my work is primarily coastal - wrecked piers and boats in their environment particularly intrigue me. I find their relationship between the man-made and the organic fascinating so I attempt to paint as a direct response to this. Such structures, although derelict and disused, are monumentally surrounded by the landscape. Atmosphere abounds. These are some of the landscape’s elements my paintings reflect.
