I first became interested in photography when the digital photography class was introduced at my high school. I knew that my mom attended college for photography and I always liked to look at photos that she took but I never thought about getting into photography myself until the class was available to me. My sophomore year I signed up for the digital photography class and my senior year I took advanced media studies. From my sophomore year to my senior year I would say that my work has evolved greatly because my sophomore year I was just beginning to learn how to take steady pictures but my senior year I got more involved with changing my pictures on Image Suite to make them look better. One specific theme that I tend to have in my work is nature because I love taking pictures of the outdoors especially flowers. My favorite thing about photography is the freedom that you have to take pictures of whatever interests you. I like how you can capture any moment and have it forever with one click of a button. It is especially fun to take pictures of my cousins because they are always so full of excitement and I think that their happiness is very easy to recognize in my photos. Some formal aspects that interest me are color and movement because I like pictures that are very vibrant and that have some sort of action in them. I hope that when viewers are viewing my work they think that it is good and they recognize they time and effort that I put in to each photo. I want them to walk away with the understanding that photography is something I enjoy to do and even if they do not think my photos are outstanding they at least realize the enjoyment that I get out of photography. For me, photography is just a hobby as of right now but I will definitely continue to take photos. If I get the opportunity I would love to continue to learn and pursue it further.
