Three years ago I bought a digicam to provide me with subject matter and insight for painting, but havn't gotten back to the painting yet ... Where I live along the False Bay coast at Rooi Els the colours of the sky, sea, beach and mountains in their different moods are so amazing that there is no incentivce to manipulate the colours; When they sometimes appear muted, even monochromatic in the pictures, it is because they are. There are two genres: in one series there are voluptuously rounded pebbles against a simple backdrop of sea, sky and mountain; in the other it is the various coastal moods.
Biography: Most of my adult life I have practiced as a free-lance geologist with occasional exhibitions in the cape Town area of watercolour or pastel paintings. My other interests are applied philosophy, kitchen ballet and getting to know my many grown-up children.
