Biography: Chad Miles is a multi-faceted graphic artist specializing in video treatments, text treatments, slates, special effects, editing, print media, logo design, marketing and branding, etc. Chad’s career began in 1992 as photo club president his junior year in High School. After High School He studied under Mitch Gorshin, son of Batman’s Frank Gorshin (The Riddler). Under Mitch’s tutelage, Chad learned set design, pre-production, large-scale/small-scale commercials and basic relation skills, primarily with industry-related clientele. He then took his skills to Waterman Broadcasting, where he served as everything from P.A. to head editor of ABC news and assistant editor of NBC news. This introduced him to a deadline-based environment. During this time Chad also studied under Stephen Johnson and David Gilbert, accomplished local artists. After leaving Waterman, Chad became a student at Full Sail Real World Education, where he honed his knowledge and skills relating to the industry. He majored in graphic design and special effects, with a minor in film and video. After graduation, Chad pioneered a special money-making coupon book with a small team of designers, which is to date producing publications sent to thousands of residents in neighborhoods all over the continental United States and generating millions of dollars in sales for the product owner. After this, Chad returned to Waterman Broadcasting to head up the still graphics dept., where he created still graphics and graphic packages that coincided with daily news (i.e. hurricanes, murders, accidents, etc) When Chad was with Waterman, he was working in an extremely fast-paced environment on a daily basis, which required meeting the 4:00, 5:00, 5:30, 6:00 ABC and NBC, and 11:00 ABC, NBC news program deadlines, and which also helped him to fall easily into his duties as Design Director of Tri-Snap Technologies. Chad is proficient in Photoshop, Illustrator, Quark Express, AfterEffects, Final Cut Pro HD, Premier, etc. Hardware experience includes a wide variety of linear and non-linear editing systems to different sorts of cameras (3-chip to studio, digital to 35mm). Chad is also proficient in Quantel Paintbox and VDS Twister, on-air graphic production tools.
