Biography: Claire Weston grew up on the dry plains of Kimberley in the Northern Cape, South Africa. With her father, a local Doctor and her mother an accomplished farmer - Claire never lacked interesting subjects or abstract settings for her works. Specialising in oil painting of animals, landscapes and people - her love of the new and the different shines through in her paintings. She lived in London for a number of years where she had a studio at Wimbledon Art Studio & took part in their Open Studio Exhibition. Claire now resides in Cape Town Background 29 November 1976: born in Johannesburg, the youngest of three sisters and two older brothers. Grew up in Kimberley. 1994: Matriculated from Christian Brothers College, Kimberley 1995-1998: Four year Fine Art Diploma, Foundation School of Art in Cape Town. Taught by Johan Louw (well known South African Artist) 1999: Took part in: The New Signatures Exhibition at the South African Association of art in Bellville, Cape Town 2001: Took part in: South African Artists in the UK Exhibition at Soan Studios, Fulham, London 2005: Wimbledon Art Studios, particated in Open Studio Exhibition
