Temple of Painting Classes are for beginners, hobby painters, and folks with advanced painting experience. The Bob Ross Wet on Wet technique is unique and gives beautiful results the first time, even for people who have never even used a paint brush. How long are the classes? Landscape classes are normally 5 hours long, and wildlife classes are normally 6 hours long. How often are the classes given? Classes are held once a month with a limited class size of 3 - 5 students. Private lessons for your choice of painting are also available at additional cost. Where are classes held? Classes are currently being held in Sterling, Virginia. How are the classes conducted? All students paint the same painting. Temple teaches her class with a very easy-to-understand, step-by-step method. Students are shown how to paint a small portion of the painting (example: mixing a color, loading a brush, putting in clouds). The students then paint that step while Temple oversees their progress. Plenty of individual attention helps each student progress very quickly. Even if you have never painted before, in your very first class, with your own talents, you will complete a ready-to-frame painting that you are proud to take home. What is the cost of taking a class? ** Class tuition is $100 per class for Landscape, and $150 per class for Wildlife. Upcoming classes are listed at the bottom of this page. (** If you have your own Bob Ross supplies, you will be provided with a supply list prior to our class, and your lessons will be at a reduced rate.) What do I need to bring when taking a class? The only thing required is yourself, your willingness to learn and your desire to share in the joy of painting. All materials including canvas, brushes, paint, etc. are all included. Biography: Temple is a certified Bob Ross Landscape and Wildlife Instructor with more than fourteen years of experience in the arts. She graduated from San Jose State University in 1996 Cum Laude with a degree in Studio Art and a special focus on glass. A full time working artist, she shows frequently in galleries internationally and celebrates the success of having four pieces in two museum collections. Teaching the Joy of Painting has been a life long goal that she would like to share with you.
