The development of humanity, especially in art and culture, is diverted in an obvious way into two branches: the East and the West. However the spiritual worlds of humanity, and hence its derivatives: art and culture, are inadvertently inter-connected. In the globalized world of today, accelerated by information technologies, the interconnection between the Eastern and Western art is widely noticeable in a profound manner. I draw inspiration for my paintings from the ancient Chinese art of calligraphy, merged with my understanding of Chinese philosophy, literature, painting, drama, martial arts, and even ancient warfare and weapons. I believe that the feeling shown on my paintings is connected to characteristics and needs of other nationalities worldwide.
Biography: I was born in Qingdao, China, in 1939. In 1956 I was admitted to the Shandong normal school for a special five years fine arts study. After graduation in 1961 I worked at the Zibo Art Center. In 1986, together with my colleagues, we founded the "the Zibo Oil Painting Art Research Board" and, during the first session, I was elected president of association, which continues to the present. (Presently I am: the honorary chairman of Zibo Artist Association, honorary chairman of Zibo Print Engraver Association, member of the Shandong Provincial Artist Association, senior artist of the Shandong Art Academy.)
